Jenny Nauta

Classical & Jazz- Voice/Piano

Jenny Nauta is an active well-known singer, arranger, songwriter, teacher and music consultant with roots steeped in traditional jazz, Latin, pop and classical.  She is a founding member and leader of recording artists and award-winning vocal jazz group AFTER FOUR. (www.afterfour.ca)  Jenny is an Associate Teacher and graduate of Conservatory Canada (formerly the Western Conservatory of Music) and teaches both classical and contemporary jazz voice, as well as classical and contemporary piano and theory at Aeolian Hall and in her home studio. She is also a singer/soloist and choral arranger with London Pro Musica Choir and ten-year member of their executive board; and is the Co-executive Producer of their latest CD Songs of the Land. She has worked with multi Juno award-winner Kevin Doyle on several CD projects, including the latest Karen Schuessler Singers CD project. As well, she has often performed with the London Philharmonic Chorus with Orchestra London. Over the last two years she has worked with Catherine McInnes developing a “jazz duet” concert program featuring the Great Canadian Songbook. Jenny also has a large repertoire of jazz arrangements as a solo performer.  She also works with her husband Ron in a jazz duet and does arranging and recording for themselves and others.

 Because of her interest in jazz ensemble singing, she is involved in collaborating with Aeolian Hall to develop workshops for the London and area community.  Jenny is pleased to serve as the nominating chair for the Jack Richardson Music Awards committee, celebrating and honouring the rich musical community in London and region and was the co-host of the 2009 awards show. She is also an examiner for Conservatory Canada and travels across Canada for exam sessions, specializing in classical and contemporary voice and piano.
