Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Singer Marie Bottrell comes to the historic Aeolian Hall for I’ll Be Home For Christmas: An Evening of Country Classics!

Joining Marie is special guest Genevieve Fisher, who has received Female Artist of the Year nominations at the 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Country Music Association of Ontario Music Awards.

Marie Bottrell

As a pre-teen, Marie Bottrell joined her two older siblings paying her musical dues in their London, Ontario-based Whitestone County Band. At age 17, she began recording for The Mercey Brothers’ MBS label, releasing her first album in 1978 which yielded the debut hit single, ‘Just Reach Out and Touch Me’. Marie went on to chart more than 20 singles on the RPM Charts, including her signature song, ‘The Star’, one of five Top 10 hits.

Marie Bottrell has earned recognition as the CCMA ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in 1983 and 1984, ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in the 1982 Country Music News Fans’ Awards and RPM’s ‘Outstanding Female Performer’ in 1979, as well as four Juno Award nominations.

Marie began touring with her own band and together, Marie Bottrell & Cottonwood appeared on all of the popular shows of the day including; ‘The Tommy Hunter Show’, ‘The Joan Kennedy Show’, ‘Ronnie Prophet’, ‘The Family Brown Show’ and ‘Ray St. Germain’ as well.

Throughout her career, Marie has performed with Nashville stars like, Marty Robbins, Tammy Wynette, Tom T. Hall, and Minnie Pearl. She continues to perform on stage today in various Classic Country events, as well as her highly acclaimed, “Legends” tribute shows.

Genevieve has earned 6 top 50 national country hits. Her last two, “Take It On Home” and “You Me We” climbed into Canada’s top 20 and top 30 respectively. Genevieve has continued to expand her influence on the Canadian Country Music scene earning Female Artist of the Year nominations at the 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Country Music Association of Ontario Music Awards. She has been recognized by the Canadian Country Music Association with her prestigious CCMA performance selection at the 2012 New Artist Showcase in Saskatoon as well as performing in the prestigious Songwriters Series in 2016. Genevieve has had the opportunity to perform at some of the biggest music festivals in Canada including Boots and Hearts, Lucknow Music In The Fields, Manitoulin Country Fest, Trackside and Aboriginal Day Live. Added to this list are opening performances for stars such as Hunter Hayes, Lee Brice, David Nail, Dean Brody and Great Big Sea.
