On Sunday, April 8th, The Aeolian was proud to host The Jack Richardson London Music Awards Jazz/Classical/World Awards Gala! The event kicked off Jack Richardson London Music Week, the biggest celebration of London and area music and musicians. The week is comprised of several events celebrating, encouraging and supporting musicians from this area of Ontario.
The night was hosted by The Aeolian’s own Clark Bryan & Bryan Gloyd, and featured performances by Chad Louwerse, Eagle Flight Singers, Laurraine Sigouin, Mark Swan Quintet & Pride Men’s Chorus London.
Awards were given out in several jazz, classical and world music categories, and two Aeolian programs were honoured to receive awards.
El Sistema Aeolian took home the Jack for Classical Instrumental Group. Other nominees in the category were Magisterra Soloists, Rebelheart Collective, Sharon Kahan & Marion Miller, and Plumbling Factory Brass Band.
Pride Men’s Chorus London won the Jack for Classical Vocal Choir/Group. This was the second time PMCL has been nominated, and their first win. Other nominees in the category were Karen Schuessler Singers, Amabile Choirs, London Pro Musica, and King’s University College Chamber Choir.
