JORDAN BALDWIN
Jordan is a multifaceted musician with a wide variety of artistic interests. He has dabbled in many different musical genres from Early Baroque to Klezmer. He is currently completing his MMus in Historical Performance Practices at the University of Toronto under the guidance of Jean MacPhail and Daniel Taylor. His studies are supported through the Dame Emma Kirkby and Suzie Leblanc Graduate Scholarship. In 2023, Jordan was a recipient of the France-Canada Cultural Exchange Award which allowed him to spend 6 weeks in Europe at several music training programs. This past fall, Jordan was a finalist for the National Capital Opera Competition in Ottawa where he received the third prize. As a songwriter, Jordan was a finalist in the inaugural Aeolian song writing competition, with his submission Londontown. He has since taken song writing courses at the University of Toronto, taught by Michael Occhipinti, and collaborated on musical projects with local folk groups Lo & the High Road and Silver Reeds. Jordan is also an avid choral singer. He is currently in several ensembles including That Choir, Trinity Chapel Choir and Schola Cantorum at the University of Toronto.
