Sounding Board @ The Aeolian

“The Aeolian’s Career Acceleration Program”

“Sounding Board” is The Aeolian’s Artist Development Program.  It serves as an artist in residence program.  At a time when artists are struggling to find their way through after a Pandemic and economically challenging world, it’s important they have the marketing and presence needed to flourish.

Thanks to a small grant from The London Arts Council in 2023, The Aeolian was able to select five artists from diverse backgrounds and music genres to participate in Sounding Board @ The Aeolian.

The Five Artists:

The Brothers Wilde, country rock

Daria Karchenko, soprano

Dan Luong, classical pianist

Jeremy Fox-Revett: Singer/Songwriter

Mark Waigwa (The KOALA): Hip Hop

The artists were able to rehearse a project for recording and presentation on The Aeolian’s main stage.  They also received some EPK development assistance and marketing consultation through industry experts.  There is a highlights reel on the Aeolian’s You Tube page:  Artists in Residence Showcase Reel

At the same time, we prepare artists to have the best presence in the market, the entire music industry benefits from Sounding Board.  Audiences engage in better ways and artists will maximize their earned revenue from concerts, recordings, and other related activities.  Venues will continue to be community hubs for arts presentation.  Managers and agents will have more to share with artists.  Technical teams will have an ample living using their craft and recording engineers and production teams will have more work.  Aspiring artists will see a pathway to making a life in music.  In practical terms, the economy of the music industry will prosper as the artist’s profile and craft is enhanced.

What’s most important though, is the opportunity to raise the value proposition for creativity. The creative industry is valuable both economically but more importantly, it brings joy and fulfillment to our society.  Without it, life is dull.  Without it, we don’t have reasons to get together and be in community.  Without it, our existence wouldn’t have that “spark” to make our lives fulfilling.

Past years have seen them perform at prominent events, including the 2021 CCMA Awards Launch Party, Bluewater Borderfest, Westfest, Tkaronto Music Festival, and the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival.

A milestone achievement for Nolan and Ethan came when their song “Good Day” climbed to the top spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown in 2023. This marked a pivotal moment, affirming that their music resonates with audiences in ways they had envisioned. For Brothers Wilde, this journey is not just about making music; it’s about sharing their story with the world. Motivated by the belief that their story is only just beginning, Nolan and Ethan Wilde are poised to leave an indelible mark on the country music landscape.
