A personal message to you from Aeolian Hall

…it’s way too quiet here!

The hall is dark and empty. The stage is silent. The merch counter is empty. The chairs are stacked. The PMCL is restless: choir members continue to rehearse their parts to make sure they are ready to return to the staff as soon as they can!

There is a strange silence at Bishop Cronyn: no children laughing, eating together, practicing their parts for the orchestra. There are no voices from the young choir working on the next concert. The dining room is empty, as are the kitchens. All you hear is your footsteps.

IT DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT/

Our lights are out and, like you we just wait for these weeks to unfold. The passion is still here, but the children, the artists and the audiences are not. We miss you all.  We cannot wait until be are back to performance.  Playing.  Singing.  Creating.

When will this social isolation be over and what will life look like afterwards?  We don’t know the answers to these questions, but we do know that music and community can help inspire us during these dark times.  We’re all in this together. Currently we have closed our doors while we weather the pandemic. While we wait, we still everything we can to ensure a successful season of live music and music education once we are able to re-open.

We end this month with out a revenue stream – this is so strange.  And though we are doing everything we can in the, including writing grants and seeking sponsorships, we are looking to our community for help.
